A Simple Employee App for a Complex Work Environment

Initial Situation

The KKL, a multifunctional building in Lucerne, is renowned for its concert hall with exceptional acoustics, designed by architect Jean Nouvel. Besides hosting cultural events, the KKL team manages a variety of functions, including congresses, corporate and employee events, and services such as event management, ticketing, catering, and guest services. However, internal communication with the 400 employees, especially freelancers, was becoming increasingly challenging and time-consuming.

Objectives

The KKL aimed to improve communication within its large and diverse workforce by finding a simple and efficient solution. The goal was to implement a mobile intranet that could ensure timely and reliable communication with all employees without adding unnecessary complexity.

Implementation

After evaluating various options, KKL selected StaffApp for its simplicity and ease of use. The app met the team's requirement for a straightforward communication tool without extra features like chat functions. The app was rolled out in early 2018 to share CEO and HR updates, event invitations, surveys, and weekly menus, all tailored to specific employee groups.

Outcome

The introduction of StaffApp was met with positive feedback from employees, who felt more informed and connected. The HR team also experienced significant relief in their workload.
